Animal Therapy

Animal Inspirations Therapeutic Animal Programming makes routine visits to Grace Homes. These animals are socialized, trained visiting animals of varying species including dogs, bunnies, pocket pets and domestic farm animals.

The animals, along with their trainer Sherry Eddy – Animal Specialist, interact with residents at Grace Homes. Residents brush the animals, play a hockey type game with them, pull them in a wagon, give them treats,  hold and pet the animals.

These interactions are of therapeutic value including:
Range of motion
Manual dexterity
Voice projection
Cognitive exercises
Memory recall
Mobility/ambulation
Sensory integration
Emotional support
Build social skills
